It gives me immense pleasure to inform you that the PHD Chamber and IGNOU are organizing the National Summit on Academia-Corporate Interface for Upskilling Leaders of Tomorrow on 9th November 2011 at PHD House, New Delhi. To felicitate the leaders in the field of Education and Skill development, an Award ceremony is being organized. The Awards will be presented in the inaugural function during the National Summit on 9th November 2011.
PHD Chamber and IGNOU invite Indian educational institutes / organisations / individuals to send to us their nominations by filling up the details as mentioned. The awards recognize the most exciting and innovative examples of educational institutes and the corporate alike and commend those organizations that demonstrate the evidence of their positive impact on people and planet.
The invitation to nominations comprises the following categories:
1. Award for Best Initiative in Skill Development and Community Service by Schools
2. Award for Best Initiative in Higher Education - Industry Partnership
3. Best innovation or research model between industry and professional Education partner
These awards are the most credible, influential and well established National Awards. The Awards are independent and peer assessed awards. Run in association with IGNOU, the awards recognize and celebrate those educational institutions and corporate houses that have shown innovation, creativity and a sustained commitment to education and skill development.
The report sent by you should mention details about the initiatives mentioned by you under the following headings:
- Impact on livelihoods and society in general
- Demonstrable effects on the project target groups
- Community initiatives and ownership
- The measure of replication
- Extent of collaboration
- Challenges faced and how they were addressed

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA & PROCEDURE
PHD Chamber-IGNOU Annual Awards for Excellence in Education & Skill Development
Eligibility
Ø The Award is open to all well established efficiently run educational institutes / industry which comply with laws of the country and have high standards of education and/or skill development initiatives.
Ø The educational institute / industry should have made outstanding contribution to education and skill development and other areas like training and employment generation; rural / slum development; upliftment of weaker / disadvantaged sections; etc.
Evaluation Parameters
Ø Impact on livelihoods and society in general
Ø Demonstrable effects on the project target groups
Ø Community initiatives and ownership
Ø The measure of replication
Ø Extent of collaboration
Ø Challenges faced and how they were addressed
How to Apply
The application for nomination should include:
Ø Application / covering letter
Ø Recommendation by another person / organisation
Ø Duly filled in Proforma A (3 copies) with all the attachments specified
Ø All applications should be submitted in 3 copies.
Ø A company / organisation / individual are welcome to apply (separately) for more than one Award.
Ø Only those applications will be accepted which are sent along with the desired write ups / documents and relevant proforma duly filled in (Proforma A).
Ø Nominations for self / one's organisation should be recommended by another company / organisation / individual. Applicants are welcome to send one or more nominations for any one or more than one Award.
Ø Nominations are invited from all parts of the country (members and non-members of PHD Chamber).
Ø Each Award would include a Citation and a Trophy.
