Educomp to implement ICT in 582 govt schools of Chhatisgarh



Educomp has bagged Rs. 60.72 crore project from Chhatisgarh government to implement ICT solutions in 582 Government High and Higher Secondary schools. With this project, Edureach (Educomp’s ICT Division) portfolio reached 11,154 schools.
The project will be implemented in Sarguja Zone covering six districts- Sarguja, Jashpur, Korba, Korea, Raigarh and Janjgir Champa of the state.
This program is expected to benefit 3.25 lakh learners from class IX to XII every year, a statement from the company said.
“We are pleased that over 3 lakh students across these 582 schools in Chhatisgarh will now have access to computers and computer-aided learning which will bring their learning on par with many of their more privileged city counterparts,” said Soumya Kanti, President, Edureach.
The project will be implemented under Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) Model for a period of five years including supply and maintenance of Computer Hardware, Software and Lab Accessories, provision for computer faculty in each school, training of school teachers every year.
As per the agreement, Educomp will provide computer educational services including deploying and running school management software, multimedia educational software as per-state board curriculum in 370 learning areas covering core subjects like Mathematics, Social Studies, English and Science, safe usage of internet and awareness on cyber-crime
