Union Minister for Human Resource and Development Kapil Sibal has conferred the 19th Jai National Award upon the media baron Sandeep Marwah. Marwah has expertise in all the mediums of media including Print, Radio, Television, Cinema, New Media, Events and Media Education. The felicitation ceremony was also graced by Congress Working Committee Member Oscar Fernandez."We need to bring in change into our education system to make it available to the largest number of students. We have to see that we should not loose on the quality and authenticity of the education" said Kapil Sibal while handing over the award to Sandeep Marwah.
Under the leadership of Sandeep Marwah, Asian Academy of Film & Television has become known as one of the best film schools in the world for short-term courses. This academy has trained 5000 men and women from 65 countries across the globe since it was established in 1993. He has over 36,000 hours of experience in the field of media education and research.
Sandeep Marwah has also produced over 1000 short films with the support of Marwah Studios, in the last 14 years which is highest by any individual in the world.
The Chief Minister of Haryana Bhupender Singh Hooda, Editor Sahara Urdu Dr. Aziz Burney, President Film Federation of India T.P. Agarwal, and Producer Director Actor Akbar Khan were also present on the occasion. Jai National Award has been constituted by Journalist Association of India - a non government and non-profit organisation working for the welfare of journalists.
